Biography
Dr. Alison Arnot graduated from the family practice residency program at the Toronto Western Hospital in 1984.
She has been in group practice in Mississauga, providing comprehensive care, for 21 years. In 1997, she joined the interdisciplinary team at the Addiction & Concurrent Disorders Centre at the Credit Valley Hospital. She left her group practice to become the medical director of the University of Toronto Mississauga Health & Counselling Centre in 2009.
Dr. Arnot transitioned to community practice in 2017 to provide continuity of care to the patients she had looked after while working at the since-defunded day treatment program at the addiction treatment centre.
She is interested in mindfulness, yoga and being in nature, and loves Zumba. Dr. Arnot also recently joined a physician’s choir.
Communities Served
Dr. Arnot mostly treats adults who struggle with mental health and substance use, such as alcohol, cannabis, crystal meth and tobacco. Most of her patients have histories of childhood adversity, and all have been wounded in relationships. She does not provide opiate substitution therapy.

Dr. Arnot has 4 children and 3 grandchildren.
