Indigenous Peoples in Canada continue to experience significant health inequities shaped by historical and ongoing systems of colonization and discrimination. In this session, we will explore the root causes of Indigenous health inequities, including the impacts of colonial policies, anti-Indigenous racism and systemic barriers within health and social systems. Through discussion and reflection, family physicians and primary care providers will gain insights to better understand these realities and consider how they can contribute to more equitable, culturally safe, and responsive care for Indigenous patients and communities.

The Health Equity Community of Practice for Ontario Family Physicians Community of Practice has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter for up to 1 Mainpro+ credit. This Community of Practice includes a series of planned webinars. Each session is worth 1 Mainpro+ credit, for up to a total of 17 credits.
