Mainpro+

Mainpro+ serves three key functions:

• To provide CPD participation guidelines and standards.
• To help participants track their CPD participation conveniently.
• To ensure the delivery of high-quality, ethical CPD programming through a rigorous peer-review certification process.

The Mainpro+ credit cycle runs July 1st – June 30th.

There is a six-week grace period following the cycle end date during which active members can report their outstanding credits for activities they have already completed. If credit requirements are still not met by the end of the six-week grace period, you will be placed in a two-year remedial cycle.

Direct credit entry activities will be sent to your Holding Area (external website) in your Mainpro+ Account. To apply these credits to your credits, complete the Impact Assessment questionnaire. Your activity(s) will then be approved and the credits will be visible on your dashboard.

To view a list of activities in your Holding Area:

• Log in to your Mainpro+ account
• Click “Holding Area” from the top menu, or:
• Select the activity from the “Incomplete CPD Activities” section on your main dashboard.

To submit your credits:

• Complete Impact Assessment Questionnaire Assessment
• Click “Submit”

The Mainpro+ “Holding Area” is accessed in the top menu of your Mainpro+ account (external website). Any direct credit entry activities can be viewed here. To apply these credits to your credits, complete the Impact Assessment questionnaire. Your activity(s) will then be approved and the credits will be visible on your dashboard.

Mainpro+ is optional for Resident members; however, the CFPC encourages you to report all continuing professional development (CPD) activities completed outside of your residency training program curriculum (e.g., journal clubs, conferences, workshops, advanced life-support training). Participating in Mainpro+ as a resident helps ease your transition from Resident to Active membership.

As a bonus, up to 40 certified credits earned and reported during your residency cycle will be carried forward to your first active Mainpro+ cycle automatically.

Yes, keep it for a minimum of six years, in case you are selected for a random audit. CFPC recommends keeping original confirmation of attendance and uploading a copy to Mainpro+ when entering your activity.

Yes, this would be considered an eligible Mainpro+ activity and would be eligible for Non-Certified Self-Learning credits (PDF).

Assessment activities allow Mainpro+ participants to earn credits for activities that stimulate learning through the analysis of data and the provision of feedback. For example, completing a practice audit, participating in a quality assurance program, or participating as an examiner for CFPC exams would also count toward your certified credits. Many physicians engage in these activities on a regular basis. View the full list of activities.

With the CFPC Linking Learning program (external website) you can earn Mainpro+ certified credits by reflecting on many types of learning activities. Linking Learning exercises allow you to reflect on a recent experience or activity and document how it will affect your practice.

Earn five certified credits for each completed Linking Learning (external website) exercise. These exercises are online, they can be completed over multiple sessions, and there is no limit to how many you can do in each cycle.
