Biography
Robin Beardsley, MD CCFP, graduated from the University of Toronto, completed her Family Medicine Residency in Ottawa (1989) and is now on faculty with the Department of Family Medicine in Ottawa. She has a focused practice in Psychotherapy, since 2018. Dr. Beardsley is a member of the CPSO, the Canadian College of Family Physicians, The Satir Institute of the Pacific, the Medical Psychotherapy Association Canada, and is a trained teacher in Mindful Self Compassion (2015). She has had over thirty years’ experience in a Balint Group, which provides peer support for physicians regarding the doctor-patient relationship issues and has always been interested in caregiver well-being. She has combined her extensive knowledge of Internal Family Systems, Satir Therapy with her Mindful Self Compassion training and brings her presence, fun and experience to her groups and workshops.
For fun, she knits, gardens, and feels most at home amongst trees.
Communities Served
Dr. Beardsley focuses on care for the caregiver, mostly therapists or MDs, some caregivers of ill parents, spouse or kids with mental health issues.
