Dr. Michael Gagnon

Dr. Michael Gagnon completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto before attending medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, followed by residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania. Dr. Gagnon has practised family medicine at Bolton Family Health Organization since 2007.In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he is an active preceptor for rural family medicine residents. Since 2012, Dr. Gagnon has offered his leadership to Bethell Hospice as the Medical Director, with responsibility for policy and procedure program development. Further to his passion for caring for those at the end of life, Dr. Gagnon has been a LEAP Facilitator, teaching Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative and End of Life Care. His teaching responsibilities also include his position as a Lecturer in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto and he has published both practice guides and research on specific clinical areas. Dr. Gagnon has been a dedicated board member with OCFP since 2020, was the Medical Lead for the Central West Palliative Care Network from 2014 to 2018 and has participated extensively in the leadership of the Hills of Headwaters Collaborative Ontario Health Team, along with the completion of multiple international medical missions over the course of his career. Today, Dr Gagnon continues in his family practice while also holding responsibilities as a family medicine staff member at Headwaters Health Care Centre.
