Biography
Dr. Alexander graduated from the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University and completed Family Medicine residency at the University of Toronto’s Department of Family and Community Medicine. She also holds a Masters degree in Public Health Promotion from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto and a Graduate Certificate in Pain Management from the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at University of Alberta.
She has taken advanced training in Psychotherapy, Psychopharmacology, Yoga Therapy, Medical Acupuncture, Functional Medicine and Mind Body Medicine.
Prior to 2015, Dr. Alexander was a Medical Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces Royal Medical Corps where she developed her interests in the intersection of mind and body in common clinical presentations. She now practices in Oakville, ON and at the Stronach Southlake Regional Cancer Centre in Newmarket, ON where she is appointed to the Departments of Psychiatry and Family Medicine.
