OCFP’s CFPC Exam Orientation Workshop – Resident Examiner Recruitment Survey

About the Workshop

On August 21-23, 2026, the Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP) will be conducting a workshop for practice eligible candidates looking to challenge the CFPC’s certification exam with the intent of providing them with an opportunity to be oriented to the CFPC’s certification exam, including time to practice 4 Simulated Office Orals.

Resident Opportunity

We are looking for 20 resident examiners to assist with the delivery of this workshop. Residents selected for this role will act as SOO EXAMINERS.

Residents will need to be available on both Friday evening (August 21, 2026), for a training session and Sunday morning and afternoon (August 23, 2026), for the workshop. Residents will be required to learn the details of a SOO case prior to attending training. This is necessary to ensure a more consistent delivery of the workshop.

We require residents with the following availability:

Training Session: Friday, August 21, 2026, from 4-9 p.m. Early dinner will be provided.
Location: 400 University Ave, Suite 2100, Toronto, Ontario (Ontario College of Family Physicians Office)
Exam Workshop: Sunday, August 23, 2026*, from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided with a one-hour break.
Location: 60 Murray St, 4th floor, Toronto, ON (Cathy Kelly Conference Room at Mount Sinai Hospital)
*On August 23, if the workshop supports one group of candidates, residents will be required from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. If the workshop supports two groups, residents may be required until 5:30 p.mFinal timing will be confirmed in July.

Benefits to Participation

Past resident examiners have shared that this experience has provided them with valuable insight into the SOO component of the certification exam. If you are looking for an opportunity to learn more about the SOO component of the exam, work alongside our physician faculty and are interested in helping others better understand the exam process – please sign up. A stipend of $250 ($350 if two groups are involved) will be offered for your time and support.

Please note, your attendance is a vital part of the successful delivery of this program and the overall training experience for participants. If you chose to apply for this role, we kindly ask that you prioritize and secure the following dates in advance to avoid any scheduling conflicts. Given the importance of your role, you may need to be excused from clinical duties to ensure timely arrival for the start of the workshop.
