Breakfast Series on Innovative Approaches to Optimizing Teams: Unlocking Family Physician Capacity
The Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP) has launched a new, six-part virtual Breakfast Series on Innovative Approaches to Optimizing Teams, designed to showcase practical, real-world experiences from family physicians in different team settings across the province. Family physician capacity is more than roster size. It is the ability to safely care for more patients while maintaining timely access, continuity, quality and professional sustainability. In our first session, Unlocking Family Physician Capacity, we’ll establish the series framework and examine why adding people or funding does not automatically improve the physician’s day or the patient journey. The discussion will surface how workflow, role clarity, administrative systems, trusted relationships and decision-making structures interact, while acknowledging that no single organizational model fits every community. This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter for up to 12 Mainpro+ credits.
