SUMMARY:ADHD in Primary Care: Meeting Growing Demand with Practical Tools
DESCRIPTION:Demand for ADHD diagnosis and support is increasing\, while access to psychiatric assessment and ongoing care remains limited\, particularly for youth and adults who may be excluded by cost or availability of private options. In this session\, our panel will support family physicians in recognizing ADHD across the lifespan\, identifying common co‑morbidities\, and understanding their role in assessment and early management. Panelists will discuss practical approaches to diagnosis\, available pathways for patient support\, and how to navigate gaps in the system. Treatment options will be explored in the second part of the session taking place in August. \n\n\n\nThe Practising Well Community of Practice has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter for up to 1 Mainpro+Ⓡcredits. SUMMARY:CFPC Exam Orientation Workshop - August 22 & 23 2026
DESCRIPTION:The CFPC Certification Exam Orientation Workshop offers an introduction to the components of the CFPC certification exam. Participants will have the opportunity to practice a written exam that includes Short Answer Management Problems (SAMPS) and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)/short menu formats. The workshop also features four practice Simulated Office Orals (SOOs)\, along with a detailed analysis of the SOO marking scheme. Please note that more time is allocated to SOO preparation and practice during the workshop. \n\n\n\nLearn more about this workshop. \n\n\n\nPlease note: This workshop will proceed only if the minimum enrolment of 20 participants is reached. SUMMARY:Clinical Application of the Long-Term Care (LTC) Fracture Prevention Recommendations for Frail Older Adults
DESCRIPTION:Long-term care (LTC) residents are more dependent\, frail and vulnerable\, and require more complex care than community-dwelling older adults. Yet many interventions intended to reduce fracture risk are not used consistently in LTC\, and clinical practice guidelines for osteoporosis have focused on the care of adults living in the community. This program aims to address existing care gaps by illustrating the application of pharmacological and non-pharmacological fracture prevention recommendations with frail older adults in LTC.
